Closed refinance with Tom Krug. Got extra rebate after closing costs were paid (free money). This was the big difference from other quotes we got. I found out that other companies no-cost loans included paying pricey (more expensive) fees to their affiliates (title and escrow). Best rates for California loans I found on the internet. I have good credit/equity so it was about rate for me. No cost refinance, with extra rebate money (nice!). No other lender was offering that, the extra rebate helped. Used a big name Title and Escrow company so I felt I was in good hands there too. Called up to confirm rates and surprised to find out that they were just as posted! We have great credit and equity in our home so we wanted the best rate, why pay more if you don’t have to?? Shopping for lowest rates on the internet and I found Residential Funding Group. Their rates are excellent and we just closed our home loan with them. Very professional and knowledgeable. When it came time to lock in our rate we locked in .125% lower than what we were originally quoted. I found out that other mortgage companies- the ones that fund your loan and then resell it real fast, they keep any extra rebate instead of giving it to the borrower. I refi’d my house 3 times in the last 2 yrs. Just closed my 1st loan w/ ResFund at the best rate advertised online. I compared offers side by side and chose the lowest.
